During your year in China you will learn Mandarin, experience living in another country and the Chinese culture and make new friends from all over the world. Every Chinese family wants their child to learn English from as young as possible, as a native English speaker, you are what every Chinese family is looking for.

You will teach children from as young as 2 years old the letters of the alphabet, read English stories to them and talk to them in your fluent English. You will have the opportunity to teach them just as your own parents have taught you, much the same as teaching the children that you babysit for in South Africa. Good babysitting references and English language skills are vital requirements needed for this programme.

YDP works with a select number of reputable and longstanding agencies in China, assuring that you are applying through a legitimate organisation and will therefore have the best support structure throughout your year in China. Our Chinese partner continuously arranges fun events for the Language volunteers to participate in which is great for weekends off and to meet the other Language Volunteers from other countries. Another bonus about this programme is that your airfare to China is covered as long as you complete your 12 months in China![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_accordion collapsible=”yes”][vc_accordion_tab title=”Programme requirements”][vc_column_text]
