One of the primary hurdles for many hospitality students is the escalating cost of international internship programmes, largely due to the unfavorable rand-dollar exchange rate. These challenges have driven us to innovate and adapt.
YDP’s passion for travel and our belief in its transformative power, especially for our South African Youth, led us to look for more favourable opportunities that won’t break the bank.
We have been exploring alternative destinations for our Hospitality students, negotiating partnerships with institutions in countries with a more cost effective programme.

WORK & TRAVEL
The YDP Work & Travel Asia program is designed for enrolled students and recently graduated students who wish to broaden their experiences in a new cultural setting across Asia! No previous work experience, internships, or related hospitality studies are required, as participants will receive basic training to feel comfortable in their assigned positions. This program provides a great opportunity for first-timers to work while traveling, discover new places, and engage in cultural exchanges with locals, fellow program participants, and international guests!

Our hospitality internship programs are arranged in collaboration with a professional international host organization. We arrange internships with 4 & 5 star hotels, who will provide living benefits for participants. YDP Work & Travel programs are arranged with hotels that understand the utmost importance of providing a quality training experience for the future generation of employees in the hospitality industry.

Become a Member - R500
Gain access to our full range of support and for us to prepare your file.
Schedule a Consultation - R2500
A face-to-face interview where we address any questions or concerns you may have and to prepare you for a meeting with international partner.
Partner Application Submission - ($350 +-)
Acceptance and Submission of your application to our international partner.
Hotel Interviews
Once hired, the final $1300 is due and the final visa and flight arrangements are made to begin preparing you for your departure!
REQUIREMENTS
AGE
Aged between 18 and 32 years. (with some exceptions for over 32 years of age).
Have a valid passport or ability to obtain a passport
ARE YOU?
a) Full time student; OR b) A recent graduate (within the past 3 years)
*School, college, or university endorsement is required.
ALL AREAS IN HOSPITALITY
F&B service, Front office & guest services, Bar, Banqueting/events, Guest Relations, Housekeeping, Reservation, Culinary Arts (Hot & Cold kitchen, A-la-carte, Buffet), Pastry & Bakery… etc.
